We are ideally situated for exploring the Peak District and local attractions, with Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell , Matlock close by and excellent walks from the doorstep.
Adjoining our farmhouse at Woodside, The Old Farmhouse is an 18th century stone cottage with exposed beams and full of character, furnished and well equipped providing a home from home feel. The cottage sleeps 4-5 people in two bedrooms, pets welcome. Water is from our own natural spring.
We also have another cottage in nearby Birchover. Lion Cottage is an 18th century semi detached stone cottage renovated to a very high standard. Originally from the area we have local knowledge to assist you in your holiday plans, advising on local attractions or generally providing assistance, if you wish, or you may want to explore this area of natural beauty yourself. As a family enterprise, we aim to please and provide a memorable holiday, weather that is simply self-catering accommodation, Bed & Breakfast or a more organised event. We have two young children who are happy to play and give parents that short break that is often much welcome.
With over 30 years of mountain biking and walking experience, we hope to offer a unique holiday. We understand the needs of people who enjoy the outdoor life. Guided cycle rides can be organised for all levels from the simple to the very technical and complex. A well-stocked library of guidebooks and maps enables our guests to plan and gain the most from the stay.
At Woodside Farm we usually meet our guests on arrival and assist them with settling into the The Old Farmhouse. We can also meet our guests on arrival at Lion Cottage by prior arrangement.
