Rose Cottage is a charming yet unusual, traditional mid terrace stone cottage which has been recently re-equipped and furnished. It has parts dating back to the 17th Century, it is full of character, yet with a modern fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
It is ideal for one or two couples or could suit a family but not with young children.
There is parking on the small lane close to the house.The cottage is situated in the centre of the pretty little village of Over Haddon, which perches on the edge of a hilltop overlooking the beautiful Lathkill Dale which is famous for its wildlife, walking and spectacular views which provide excellent opportunities for photography.
This is the heart of the Peak District at its very best, steeped in history and surrounded by panoramic views of the wonderful Derbyshire Dales. There are miles of footpaths from which to explore the beautiful countryside as well as Lathkil there are several famous beauty spots such as Millar’s Dale, Bradford Dale and Curbar Edge. Cyclists and walkers alike will enjoy the safe established cycling trails such as the High Peak Trail the Tissington Trail and the Monsal trail.
Within the village is an excellent, friendly pub which serves food and sells a superb range of local and guest beers. There is also a farm shop selling home cured meats, sausages, bacon and free range eggs Short drives away are villages such as Youlgreave, Monyash and Ashton on the Water where you will find a variety of pubs with varied menus.
Two miles from Over Haddon is the very popular market town of Bakewell, the "Capital of the Peak" which has a diverse and comprehensive range of amenities, shops, businesses, restaurants and leisure facilities.
Chatsworth House with stunning gardens and elegant interior and Haddon Hall which has a fascinating history are very close by and there are many other attractions such as Alton Towers, Height’s of Abraham and the Blue John Mines within easy reach.

The Accommodation
Walking through the porch, you enter the cosy living room which has a log burning stove in a traditional stone fireplace, exposed beams and an attractive window seat. 5 steps lead up to the fully fitted and well equipped kitchen, a utility area leads out onto an enclosed patio area with pretty borders, in the far corner by the rear gate is a secure laundry room which is large enough to house bikes and other equipment.
The cottage is unusual in that it has two completely separate bedrooms, each with their own separate staircases and bathrooms. The room with the double bed is in the older part of the cottage also with a window seat and an adjacent modern bathroom.
The twin bedded room is modern with sloping ceilings, pine furniture and has a shower room and toilet.
